To join the club you child will need to attend an assessment of swimming ability. These usually take place during a Saturday evening training session at Teddington pool. The assement will be on stroke and technique carried out by a TSC coach. The swimmer will be expected to demonstrate 1 length in each stroke and must be at least 6 years of age.
If you are interested in joining, please complete the form, accessed through the link at the foot of this page, and click the ‘submit’ button. You will then be sent details of the next available assessment session.
The assessment will determine which of the training squads your child will be offered to join. Depending on the availability of places in the squads there may be a awaiting time before you child can actually start.
In addition to reaching the required swimming standard new members must agree to abide by all club rules (Codes of conduct). They must also make the commitment to be available when selected to represent the club.
For Development Widths, our entry squad, the following standard of swimming is required:
- 25m front crawl with regular breathing
- 25m backstroke with straight arm recovery.
- 25m breaststroke with a symmetrical leg kick.
- Be able to attempt a butterfly stroke.
If your child is not quite up to to this standard we do offer swimming lesson, click here for more information.
If you are already a club swimmer and wish to join TSC please complete the assessment form and we will be in contact with you to organise an assemment or trial.
